I blame myself. I should have lived more frugally and put aside and certainly should have had disability insurance. Can't get it now since the cancer even if I could pay the premium which would be astronomical. So I continue to live on the edge and thanks to everyone who helps out!Ruth Ann Angushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17090143099598855736noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-852940032842457044.post-73303274789344052502010-01-05T17:00:28.977-08:002010-01-05T17:00:28.977-08:00Funny Gordo!

It's disability insurance, based on income, not expensive (about $90 per $100K income, paid quarterly). The payout is a reasonable percentage and so is the length of coverage. Months, if necessary. It's similar to what regular employees get. There's no 'pre-existing condition' disclaimer. It just takes a few months to kick in, and of course, you have to keep the payments up.

http://www.edd.ca.gov/disability/DIEC_Forms_and_Publications.htmfrom GGAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06520202988908128388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-852940032842457044.post-89841116357429238002010-01-05T06:06:20.852-08:002010-01-05T06:06:20.852-08:00Out of all this self-created misery (voters electe...Out of all this self-created misery (voters elected and re-elected the folks who brought you this disaster and also created the laws that systematically dismantled the Value of the Commons, shredded the safety net and left us all out in the cold, on our own. O, irony.), I can only hope that people will now wak up and look around and understand that safety nets and decent healh care and disability help are supposed to be there for all of us, not just something being given away to That Other Guy. Maybe then, we'll come to our senses and see that the (self built) canoe we're in is small and full of holes and we'd all better fix those holes and paddle together. Else we'll all drown.Churadogshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17701649330085709021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-852940032842457044.post-29024840030323838172010-01-04T15:52:50.619-08:002010-01-04T15:52:50.619-08:00A very important reminder, Ruth Ann. I'm glad to hear that you and Gordo (and sometimes Thomas) are still in your cozy house.Anne R. Allenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02420000168356370825noreply@blogger.com
